Linda L. Sayers

Linda Sayers, age 73, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020, with her husband and daughters by her side. Linda was born April 19, 1947, in Cedar Springs, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Herbert James and Ruth Irene Gagan Wilson. Linda received her education in Canada. In the summer of 1965, she came to live with her aunt and uncle in Los Angeles, California, and that's where she met the love of her life, Archie. On October 31, 1966, she married Archie D. Sayers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after marrying, Linda and Archie were blessed with twin daughters, Brenda and Linda. In late 1967, the family moved to Wichita, to be closer to Archie's family. After moving to Wichita, family was Linda's life. She enjoyed getting together and spending time with everyone and raising her daughters. After the girls graduated and moved out, Linda and Archie opened LA Pets. They ran this business together until her retirement in 1995. Retirement allowed Linda to enjoy time with her grandkids and time spent at garage sales. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Betty, Pat, Evelyn, Ronnie, Glen, and Debbie. Survivors include: husband of 53 years, Archie D. Sayers; daughters, Brenda Schlender, Linda Gardner; siblings, Ilene, Jean, Ethel, Shirley, and Jack; grandchildren, Brandy Timmermans, Amanda Agard, Bethany Scarth, Melissa Warren, and Sarah Schlender; 13 great grandchildren. Memorial service Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m., at Derby Church of Christ. Private family inurnment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita, KS.
