Leo Qizhi Gao, 66, of Wichita, KS, passed away on July 18, 2024. Born on August 4th, 1957 in Shenyang, China, Leo initially immigrated to Germany and then to the United States in 1990. Leo was predeceased by his father, Yongchang Gao. He is survived by his brother Qixing Gao, his sister Grace Gao, his mother Shuhua Gao and 2 sons - Daniel and Jadon.
Dr. Gao was hard-working and dedicated to his profession. He spent over 40 years as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, where he was known for his unwavering desire to help others and improve the quality of life of his patients and serve his community. Founder of the Kansas College of Chinese Medicine, he was a trail blazer in the medical community in bringing traditional Chinese medicine to Kansas. In his free time, Leo enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, enjoying the outdoors and learning to become a pilot.
We find comfort in knowing that Leo’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the people he has helped, and the love he shared.
A celebration of life service for Leo will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12100 E. 13Th St. N., Wichita, Kansas.
