Leah Jo (McClellan) Holmes, age 39, passed away July 1, 2020, born in Wichita, KS to James "Monty" McClellan and Susan McClellan. She graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in 1999, and later went to Wichita State University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Marketing and Communications. She spent her childhood and young adult life riding and showing American Saddlebred horses, achieving the highest honor in her division of Saddleseat Equitation at the age of 18: UPHA Top 10 at the American Royal Horse Show. Because of this, she was also an honored debutante at the 2000 International Debutante Ball. She married the love of her life, Benjamin Holmes, in 2007, and had their daughter, Izabelle “Izzy” Holmes, in 2014. She was a stay at home mother until her last day, and loved her family fiercely. She was preceded in death by her father, James, and cousin Michael “Mike” Simmons. She is survived by her husband Benjamin, daughter Izabelle, mother Susan, sister Cara McClellan, father-in-law James “Jim” Holmes, mother-in-law Connie Holmes, brother-in-law Jeremy Holmes, uncle William “Tom” Bailey, aunt Pamela “Pam” Bailey, uncle Bruce Simmons, aunt Marilyn Simmons, cousins Angeline “Angel” (Joe) Evans, Aaron (Lindsay) Bailey, Jennifer “Jenny” Simmons, J.P. (Jessie) Bailey. Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2020 from 3PM-5PM. Service will be Saturday, 1PM, July 11, 2020, both at Resthaven Mortuary, with burial to follow service.
