Kathleen "Kathi" Monique Boggs, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the age of 72, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 22, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas, was daughter to Lucille (Perrin) Wray and sister to Barbara and Laurie.
After graduating from Wichita South High School, Kathleen went on to work in the insurance industry with her mother, Lucille, and later for the Wichita Police Department. In 1985, as a single mother of 4, she met John Boggs at a singles group at Broadway Christian Church, where they later married. Her proudest moments were being John’s wife, Momma to Christopher, Jennifer, Jamie, Renee, Cassandra and Alexander and a best friend to Barbara Anne and Ann Marie.
Kathi loved her children and family unconditionally. She found enjoyment when taking in an episode of NCIS, writing in her prayer journal and her own beautiful poetry. She loved a good shopping trip to the thrift store, collecting stuffed animals, and of course her purse collection. She also found enjoyment in listening to music. She especially loved Rich Mullins and Barbra Streisand. She found comfort throughout the years with lots of faithful fur babies always by her side. Tinkerbell, a Chihuahua, being the latest one she snuggled.
Thankful for the memories made, those left to honor her legacy are husband, John Boggs; sisters: Barbara Drewry, Laurie Fraser, Suzy Au, and Tammy Williams; daughters: Jennifer VanGaasbeek, Jamie (Matt) Womack, Renee (Jeremy) Shahan, Cassandra (Jordan) Richardson; sons: Christopher VanGaasbeek and Alexander Boggs; grandchildren: Timothy, Joshua, Samantha, Billy, Aaron, Nikki, Brooklynn, Alan, Faith-lynn, Kaylee, Laney, Clay, Cord, Adison, Morghan, Colton, Preston, Ashton, Mason, Rylee, and Lane; great-grandchildren: Cashtion, Delilah, Journey, Malia, Jayden, Braelynn, Lei'lani, and Magnolia; brother-in-laws, Lyndon and Richard; nieces and nephews: Matthew, David, Danielle, Melissa, Jonathan, Maggie, Heather and Jeremy.
We will continue to honor those with whom she is now rejoicing which include: her Momma, Lucille; brother, Jamie Wray; grandson, Christopher VanGaasbeek Jr.; and in-laws, Robert and Dorothy Boggs.
A Celebration of Life will be held, Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Northside Church of Christ, 4545 N Meridian Ave, Wichita, KS 67204.
The family will lay Kathi to rest in a private family service.
