Karen Lynn Schumaker

Karen Lynn (Schwader) Schumaker 65, passed away on Sunday August 13th, 2023 after a long illness. She was born September 28, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas to Myrtle Schwader- Cary and Jesse Schwader.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse L. Schwader; stillborn son, Kevin Paul Schaal; husband David Schumaker.

She is survived by her mother Myrtle Cary and stepfather Frank Cary; step mother Soubanh Whitson of Wichita, KS; her son Jeremy (Stephanie) Schumaker of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Lexis and Landon Schumaker of Wichita, KS; twin sister Sharon (Terry) Pennington of Queen Creek, AZ; sisters Debbie (Ron) Malek of Newton, KS and Kim Becker of Wichita, KS; step siblings Soulayvanh (Thaddeus) Beisel of Portland, OR, Soulayphet (Nam) Schwader of Wichita, KS; as well as 6 nieces, 3 nephews and numerous loving cousins.

Karen attended Maize schools (1st-12th grade) graduating in 1976. She pursued careers at both Cessna and Kollsman.

The family extends the most heartfelt thank you and appreciation for the expression of love and support that Karen received throughout her time of care at Rivercross Hospice and Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am, August 26th, 2023 at Resthaven Cemetery in the Garden of Christus. 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
