Jerome Martin Travis, 67, of Wichita, KS passed on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born on July 7, 1954, to Leland Duane and Mary Travis in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jerome was raised in Wichita, KS and graduated from Bishop Carroll High School where he enjoyed participating on the wrestling team. He also attended Kansas State University.
Jerry was employed by Occidental Chemical Corp where he worked for 39 years as a Lead Technician, retiring in 2014. Jerry loved motorcycles and cars; he also had the remarkable ability to fix anything and he loved gaming on his computers. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many activities such as fishing and boating. He had a special love for all animals. Anyone who knew Jerry has been touched in some way by his kindness and humor. He was a great friend, brother and husband and will be greatly missed.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Mary Travis and his brother, John Christopher Travis. He is survived by Barbara J. Travis of Wichita, KS, his beloved wife of 24 years. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother: Kay Hein of Houston, TX, Lee Travis of Plano, TX and Teresa Dougherty of McKinney, TX: numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
