Dennis graduated from West High School and shortly after joined The United States Marine Corps. He did two tours in Vietnam of which he was very proud. He was employed by TWECO for 35 years until the company closed. He was then employed by USD 259 where he retired in 2011. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Dennis was a classic car enthusiast and an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and taking his children and grandchildren on vacations. Dennis was quiet but funny and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel, and son-in-law Ian Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of 55 years; three children, Laura Wilson-Anderson, Stacy (James) Renfroe, and James (Maranda) Wilson Jr.; five grandchildren; and two brothers, David and Michael Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Honor Flight Network.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. A celebration of life immediately followed by a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM also at Resthaven Mortuary.
