Hazel Marie Black

Black, Hazel Marie, 95, of Wichita, Kansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 19, 2017 in Denver, CO. Hazel was born on November 6, 1921 in Terrell, TX the daughter of Jeff and Charley Adkins. Hazel and Charles Black II were married in 1939. Together they celebrated 37 years of marriage before his passing in 1979. Hazel attended North High School in Wichita. She attended Beauty College and later became a longtime beautician in Wichita, retiring in 2000. She had a passion for Child Evangelism. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Charles Adkins, Cleo Adkins, Leo Adkins, daughter, Geraldine Kinnard, son, Gerald Eugene Black. Survivors include her loving children, Charles (Jean) Black III of Denver, CO, Charlene Avery of Hampton, Virginia, Dale (Marjorie) Black of Wichita, Anthony (Barbara) Black of Denver, CO, 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday April 30, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday May 1, 2017 at Tabernacle Bible Church, 1817 N. Volutsia, Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
