Georgia Dorthea (Robins) Northcutt Draper, passed away March 6, 2019. Georgia was born in Enid, Oklahoma on January 4, 1923, to her parents James George Robins and Hattie Kennedy Robins. She was the fourth of five children. In one early memory of her life in Enid, she recalls that her mother had her wear a little red bandana over her face as she walked to school during the Dust Bowl.
As a young woman, Georgia moved to Wichita and married Kenneth Northcutt; ironically, when she left her father's care, he worried whether she would be able to fend for herself on her own. She proved that his concern was unmerited by becoming overwhelmingly successful in life, especially in the realms of marriage, business, and self expression. Early in her career she worked her way up to the position of executive secretary of a vice president of Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. This led her to a lifelong love of aircraft, and she and her husband were inspired to earn their private pilot's licenses and enjoy flying their own aircraft. After leaving Cessna, she and her husband engaged in some sales endeavors before obtaining the Trailmobile sales and service in Kansas. She employed her business skills to run the office portion of the trailer business and was an early convert to computerization. She continued in this business until the death of her husband.
At a later point in her life, a friend introduced her to Mont Draper. They married and enjoyed many happy years together. She provided accounting and office assistance to him in his career, and she took great delight in being included in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Georgia lived life to the fullest and took pleasure in decorating, boating, hospitality and party planning, painting, dining out, and political science. As well as Sunday family dinners at Cena and Reza Eftekhars home and trips to KC to visit Polly and Ken Prendergast. She is survived by her husband, Mont Draper; daughters, Cena (Reza) Eftekhar and Polly (Ken) Prendergast; and grandchildren, Alex Eftekhar and Mitchell Eftekhar.
Funeral service will be held at Unity Church 11:00am Wednesday, March 13, 2019, with viewing one hour prior. Memorials may be made to the Kenneth B. Northcutt Endowed Memorial Scholarship, 1845 Fairmount St., Wichita, Kansas 67260, (316) 978-3456.
