Fannie Caroline Piper Robertson passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Wichita, Kansas with her family at her bedside. Fannie was born December 3, 1918 in West Plains, Missouri, the fifth of seven children born to the union of Nova Alice (Freeze) Piper and Bernard Frank Piper, Sr.
Fannie married Harry James Robertson of West Plains, Missouri on August 7,, 1938. Their union was blessed with five children.
Fannie was preceded in death by Harry, her husband of 50 years; brothers: Frank (Jr.), Herbert, and Leonard Piper; sisters: Ruth Guard, Virginia Lloyd, and Margaret Jones; son, David Robertson; and grandson, Jesse Robertson.
Fannie is survived by her children, Caroline Durant of Wichita, Kansas; Dr. Joe (Kimberly) Robertson of Crestview, Florida; Elisabeth “Libby” (Michael) Rogers of Grand Junction, Colorado; and John Robertson, Sr. of Biloxi, Mississippi.
Other survivors include grandchildren Nan (Hilary) Perkins, Kent (Danetta) Durant, Bradley (Irne Phillips) Robertson, Susanne Crites, Amber (Kris) Denny, J.R. (Cydney) Rogers, Dr. Amanda Rogers (Said) Kazerooni); Shannon, Sam, and John Robertson, Jr.
Great-grandchildren include Jennifer, Corey, and Tamara Bookhout; Karrah (Lucas) Bishop, William (Katy) Durant, and Austin Durant; Anne (Jake) Hamilton, Sam Freeman, and Erin Woods; Scarlett Robertson, Landon Brown, and Maddy Robertson.
Fannie’s interests included family, embroidering, crossword puzzles, cooking, and baking. She was a life-long believer and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as a long-term member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her children are grateful for her example.
