Lauber, Douglas G., 75, of Wichita, KS passed away on Fri. Mar. 30, 2018 in Wichita. Douglas was born the son of Tony and Clestine (Powell) Lauber on Jan. 10, 1943 in Cleveland, MO. Doug spent his younger years in Fort Scott, KS prior to serving in the United States Army. Doug worked at the Wichita Flour Mill for over 20 years. He also worked for Dold Foods Meat Packing in Wichita. He later started his own company manufacturing wood shipping pallets until his passing. Survivors include his siblings, Lovetta Burnett, Willard Lauber, Charlotte Roberts, step-daughter, Cindy (Dan) Lowery and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Karen Lauber. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm on Tues. Apr. 3, 2018 and 10am on Wed. Apr. 4, before graveside, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS. Graveside services will be 11am on Wed. Apr. 4, 2018 at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the MPN Research Foundation, 180 N Michigan Avenue, Suite 1870, Chicago, IL 60601. The MPN Research Foundation has a single goal: to stimulate original research in pursuit of new treatments -- and eventually a cure -- for polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia and myelofibrosis, known collectively as myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs).
