Dennis was a master electrician for over 50 years and retired in April of 2016. On June 28, 1991, Dennis married the love of his life Cheryl Lies and together they shared 34 years.
Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, skiing, camping, and most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son Robert "Bobby" Lies.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl; two children Kenny (Lori lee) Thompson and Stacie Thompson; one step-son Shawn Lies; four grandchildren Shelby Haugh, Charley Thompson, Joseph Thompson, and Jessica Thompson; five step-grandchildren Bret Lies, Gavin Lies, Abigail Lies, Maria Lies, and Emma Lies; four great-grandchildren Liam Kearns, Iris Thompson, Aurora Thompson, and Apollo Thompson; five siblings Barbara Thompson, Gary Thompson, Luella Hendrix, Don Thompson, and Gail Love.

A visitation for Dennis will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 3, 2023 at 3:00 PM, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A committal service will occur Friday, February 3, 2023 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209 immediately following the service.
