Billy Joe Powell, age 87, of Augusta, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Billy was born December 15, 1936, in Welch, Oklahoma to Opal Marie Clark Powell and Noah Everett Powell.

Billy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carole Ann Johnston Powell; daughter Jo Moore (Jerry); son Curtis Powell; son Steven Powell; daughter Sherri Powell; daughter Kathy Nunnery (Barry); and daughter Sheila Pottorff (Tom); brothers Noah "Buck" Powell (Mable), Robert E. Powell (Bonnie), Richard Powell (Janna) and Wayne Powell (Kathy); grandchildren Dylan Moore, Ryan Pate, Austin Traffas, Casey Traffas (Havone Champathong), Josh Hoffman, Megan Hoffman, Amber Heimberger, Jennifer Pottorff, and Adam Bauer; and great grandchildren Greyson, Kaden, Kyler, and Kolston.

Billy was preceded in death by his father Noah Everett Powell; mother Opal Marie Clark Powell; brother Raymond Morris Powell; and sisters Verlia Embry and Kathryn Jane Powell.

A funeral service for Billy will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13TH ST N, WICHITA, KS 67206.
