Betty Jean Smith, age 91, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Betty was born February 6, 1930 to Leonard and Alice Walden in Iola, Kansas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.
Betty attended East High school in Wichita, Kansas and graduated class of 1948. She worked for many years at the former TG&Y and later with Walmart. Betty and her Husband “Jr” loved Sprint Car racing and both worked at 81 Speedway for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Maurice B. "Smitty" Smith Jr.; son, Terry Alan Smith; and daughter-in-law, Susan Smith.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lynn (Terry) Parham of Wichita; grandchildren, Brian, Michelle, Amanda, Lee and Kyle; and great grandchildren, Kevin, Jenna and Hayden.
Family and friends will be holding a Celebration of Betty's life on October 10th from 1:00 to 3:00, at the Twin Lakes Apartments, 1945 N. Porter Ave. in the building 1945 Club Room.
