Barbara Etta (Massey) Clark

Barbara Etta (Massey) Clark, born in Campbell, Arkansas, on December 18, 1933, to James Clifford and Cora Lee (Wallis) Massey was called home on Friday, December 9, 2022, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

She attended school through the eighth grade and was a member of the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Barb, as her friends called her, and her family moved to Holyrood, Kansas, in 1952 and she was a homemaker for several years before becoming a checker at the local IGA grocery store. She spent 31 years doing various jobs in grocery stores before getting hurt on the job and being forced to retire early.

Her desire had always been to become a beautician, but time, distance and a young family to care for prevented her from fulfilling this dream. She completed her GED and took a few junior college classes.

Barbara enjoyed learning to belly dance, enjoyed country music and taught herself to sew, crochet and quilt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Reddell, brother William Thomas Massey, son Terry Clark, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, nephew Billy Wayne Reddell, a great nephew and a great granddaughter, Kinley Clark.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Sherry/Jim Keller of Douglass, Kansas, grandchildren Brian/Amber Keller of Boston, Krista/Andy Dueringer of Lenexa, Amanda Stevenson of Wichita, Justin/Jayann Clark of Great Bend, Audra Clark of Hoisington, and Amy/Brandon Harris of Great Bend, fifteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces Jimmie/Lloyd Christopher of Lathrop, Missouri, and Patti Lembke of Blue Springs, Missouri, and one nephew, Brian Scott Massey and wife of Centerville, Arkansas.

A graveside service for Barbara will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E 13Th St N, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
