He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1958 and later he opened a restaurant in Cherryville, Kansas.
He was married to Mary Agnes Shelton where together they shared two children, William and David Shelton. After Mary passed away, he later married Joan Shelton in 2007.
He worked at Pitney Bowes as a salesman and later as a sales manager.
Art enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing pool. His hobbies include painting and photography.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Agnes Shelton.
Survivors include his sister, Judith Lattimer and his two sons, William and David Shelton.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm on December 12, 2024, with a funeral following at 2:00 pm and a graveside service immediately following in the Garden of Faith. All at at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
