Arthur "Art" Glass D.D.S.

Retired Wichita Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon passed away March 8, 2023. He was born in St. Anthony Hospital in Hays, KS October 8, 1937, the son of Clarence W. and Julia E. Glass. After graduating from Ellis High School in 1955 he attended Kansas University for three years, leaving when he was accepted for study at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry Kansas City, where he graduated four years later in 1962.

Arthur was married to the lovely Jule W. Pitts of Memphis, Tennessee September 8, 1962. For the next two years they lived in Germany where he was a Captain in the Dental Corps. Returning to the USA they moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he attended a year of post graduate education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston University. This was followed by a three year residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.

He established his Wichita practice in 1968 joining that practice with Dr. Jerome Laham in 1974. Dr. Kenneth Nelson joined them several years later. Arthur was a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, KS AOMS, American Dental Association, KS DA, and was a board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

His Hobbies were golf, and for many years was a member of Crestview Country Club, scuba diving, photography and American history particularly WWII. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife Jule P. Glass of Wichita KS, children Elliott (Susan) Glass of Lenexa KS, Gwendolyn Glass-Klimiuk of Wichita KS, grandchildren, James (Taylor) Glass, Sarah Glass, John Klimiuk and Andrew Klimiuk.

Funeral Service for Arthur will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel. Burial following the service at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Gethsemane II, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, KS 67206.
