Al spent his childhood in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. He loved sharing stories about his life with his family there. His Grandpa Means was special to him and he enjoyed spending time with him. There were also many tales of the mischief he and his six brothers managed to cause. He was a loving son to his mom, always making sure she was cared for.
Al married Joan and they enjoyed many years together. They raised three children and loved the addition of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even one great, great. They spent retirement traveling in their RV, which they both loved. He took loving care of Joan in her final years as she battled dementia.
Al received his FAA certification also his A & P license and used those in his employment with Learjet and Cessna aircraft. He was instrumental in the development of the first Lear jet plane and the Cessna Citation business jet. He finished his career at Chance Rides & Coach. There he supervised the addition of the Chance trolley. His children and grandchildren loved the opportunity to get rides and ring the bell!! He always worked hard and was well liked by his co-workers.
Spending time with his family was a joy to him. He was proud of all of them. He was always there to help fix anything for his family and friends, sometimes dropping what he was doing for himself to help others. He watched Nascar, listened to country music, tinkered on things in his shop and developed a love for cooking. He was renowned for his peanut brittle he made every Christmas.
