Born October 26, 1936 in Goddard, Kansas.
Survived by wife Ruthie, married 55 years, and four children, Brad, Lana, Bary and Lisa. Sisters, Dolores Cooper and Jeanetta (Rex) Jester. Brother, Jimmy Eck.
Preceded in death by parents, Aloysius and Rose (Rohling) Eck. Sisters: Marie Mainz, Evelyn Watts, Virginia Pearson, Lucille Chapman, LaVera Bevan. Brothers: Aloysius and Arthur.
Sonny retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. He retired again after 14 years with Learjet. He enjoyed boating, fishing and golf, but most of all his family.
Sonny has 9 grandchildren; Amanda, Nicole, Andrew, Alex, Maddie, Kendra, Chelsea, Kristen and Braden. He also has 7 great grandchildren; Journey, Jourdan, Jude, Hope, Grant, Baron and Logan.
Vigil will be held Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Thursday July 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. both at The Church of the Holy Spirit.
Memorials may be made to The Church of the Holy Spirit Building Fund.
