A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 26, 2018, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 AM at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Karen was born on November 16, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas, to Elton Hugh Pingree and Yvonne Katherine Ogden. She was a bookkeeper for Perkins-Prothro Oil Company for 31 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was involved in the Parents Club and Pro Life Club. She was also a member of the Desk and Derrick Club. She loved her family above all else, but horses and Yorkshire Terriers were a close second. Her favorite activities were going on walks, watching movies, and just plain having fun. She was preceded in death by a niece: Michelle Rasberry in 2011.
Survivors include her mother: Yvonne Rodgers; her son: Chad Sheldon; her daughter: Kendra Childers and husband Justin; grandchildren: Abigail Childers and Evan Childers, all of Wichita Falls; her brother: Martin Pingree and wife Kay of Lake Arrowhead; her cousin: Mike Ogden and wife Delores also of Wichita Falls; and various nieces and nephews.
The last years of her life were taken from her after she was diagnosed with Early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/nca/donate. You can help find the cure for this horrible disease.
