Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 15, 2017, at Crestview Memorial Park with Dr. Ike Butterworth officiating.
Bud was born on October 25, 1927 in Kenova, West Virginia to Jesse and Arizona Hutchinson Blankenship. He served in World War 2 in the Navy. He married Lois Ilene Conley on September 18, 1948 in Russell, Kentucky. He owned and operated Blankenship Plumbing and Heating in Kenova, West Virginia for 42 years. They lived in Wichita Falls for 22 years. He was a Mason for over 50 years and served as a deacon of First Baptist Church of Kenova, West Virginia during his time there. He also served as Vice President of the Kenova Lions Club. He was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, Bethania Hospital and Habitat for Humanity, both in Wichita Falls. He was a member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Marge Johnson.
Survivors include his wife: Lois Ilene Blankenship of Wichita Falls; son: Jesse L. (Bud) Blankenship, Jr. and wife Carol of South Carolina; and daughter: Lois Segers and husband Ellie of Wichita Falls; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Presbyterian Manor.
