Frances Munoz

Frances Perez Muñoz departed March 30, 2024, with family and friends surrounding her after a battle with renal cancer. Frances was born to Frank D. Perez, Sr. and Sarah E. Perez, August 19, 1943, in Knox City, Texas. She was the oldest of eight children. She was a graduate of Knox City High School and shortly after graduation she married John Rios Muñoz on January 6, 1962, in Knox City, Texas. They then had their son Johnny Muñoz, and three years later had their daughter, Gina Muñoz Petty. Soon after the birth of their daughter, they moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1966 where she worked at Levi Strauss, Scott’s Factory, and Stanley Tools where she retired. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a member of the Guadalupanas. Frances had the patience of Job which she needed with a son like Johnny. She was a strong, stern, and firm woman, but she had a soft, loving heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank D. and Sarah E. Perez of Wichita Falls, Texas, her husband of 52 years, John R. Muñoz of Wichita Falls, her brothers and sisters, Greg and Mary Villarreal, Vickie and Daryl Sanchez, Lucy Perez, Phillip Perez all of Wichita Falls, and Jacob D. Perez, Sr. of Iowa Park, nephew John Ozuna III, grandson, Jonathon Petty.

She will be missed by her children Johnny P. and Stephanie Muñoz of Colleyville, Gina and Stephen Petty of Wichita Falls, grandchildren Paige and Jordan Wright of Houston, Destiny and Colby Roberts of Electra, Kendall Munoz of Colleyville, Isabella Petty of Wichita Falls, and her great grandchildren Aliyah Wright and Mason Roberts, sister Louisa and husband John Ozuna II, brother Frank D and wife Connie Perez and sister in law Rita Perez.

In lieu flowers, donations can be made to the Patty Means Ministry or the National Kidney Foundation.

A visitation for Frances will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas. A rosary will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, Knox City, TX. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, Knox City, TX.
