He was preceded in death by his mother and father Juan and Rebeca; and brother, Johnny.
Albert is survived by his wife, Ofelia; daughter, Deborah McCash and husband, Scott of New Braunfels, son, Albert Jr. and wife, Anna of San Antonio, son, Joe and wife, Brenda of San Antonio, 6 grandchildren, Kristin Robinson and Nic, Solomon White and Lauren, Rayana Macias and Gabriel, Victoria Gonzales, Jared McCash, and Kevin McCash, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, siblings, Ruben Gonzales (Mary), Gloria Rangel ( Tom-D), Johnny-D (Maggie), Elvira Navarrete (Fred), Rudy, Ruth (Tim), and Moses.
He was born on March 20, 1939 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Juan and Rebeca Gonzales. He met his loving wife Ofelia Olivo in 1959. They were married for 61 years.
He graduated from (The High School) Wichita Falls H.S. in 1957. After high school completed the course in Railroad Telegraphy and received a diploma for an Apprentice Telegrapher.
He served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years from 1957-1963.
Afterwards he worked at Johnny Watson's furniture store. He retired after 30 years of dedicated services as a Visual Merchandising Manager at Sears. After living in Wichita Falls for over 50 years, he and his wife moved to Grand Prairie, Texas where he worked an additional 5 years with Sears. He started working for Ace Hardware after he retired from Sears. Many that knew him considered him one of the hardest workers they ever met.
Albert and his wife moved to New Braunfels in 1995 to be closer to their children. He lived in New Braunfels for 26 years. They were able to attend grandkid's activities, offer guidance, advice and support.
He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and college football. His favorite past time was reading the newspaper, and regularly giving his family numerous, specific articles to read.
He made us laugh with his jokes. He would tell us “you are a lucky duck”. He made sure his family didn’t do without anything. He would call us on the phone frequently to let us know he cared about us, and loved us. He was loved dearly by his family and friends.
The family invites you to join in the services both held at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Friday, May 14th 6:00-8:00 P.M. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 10:00 A.M. Reception to follow.
