Etta is survived by her sister, Lois Stokey, of Stony Brook, New York along with her two children, Peggy and husband Thomas of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Kevin Daisey and wife Kathryn of Kailua, Hawaii. She was the proud grandmother of her granddaughter Nicole Leimomi Reid, grandson Kevin Everett Daisey, and the great-grandmother of Simone Keomailani Reid.
Etta May was born on May 30, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to George Everett and Letitia Sophia Dillon. Etta graduated from Girls Commercial High School and immediately began working for AT&T as a telephone operator. She married William Martin Daisey Jr. on November 25, 1950. Over the next 5 years, the couple welcomed their 2 children Kevin and Peggy into their home. They remember her as a kind, patient, and generous mother who provided sacrificially while encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
Etta was a gifted and nurturing caregiver to the many young children entrusted to her over many years. She individually loved and touched their hearts and minds with her personal life of faith. Etta was an active and dedicated member of the Ocean County Evangelical Free Church in Lakewood, New Jersey for many years.
Visitation will be March 25, 2017 from 10am leading to Funeral Services beginning at 11:00am at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, New Jersey. Committal will be private. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Etta's life.
The family would like to thank the care giving staff of the Hawaii Hospice staff for their dedication and kindness in recent days.
