Frank Gillissie

Frank Gillissie, 85, of Whiting, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2023. Born on January 24, 1938 to Mary Kurtz Gillissie, he spent most of his young life in New York City. He married in 1962 and had three children from his first marriage. He moved to NC in 1965 where he worked for Vassar Corp. and raised his three children in Asheville. In 1975 he moved his family to Toms River, NJ where he worked for Wakefern Corp. in Elizabeth as a warehouse supervisor.

Then in 1987, he married the love of his life, Catherine or "Kate" as he fondly called her and helped raise two daughters. Frank was a devoted family man with a generous heart and sense of humor. He was a Cleveland Browns fan, enjoyed playing chess and the lottery, and vacationing in Mexico with his wife Kate. He leaves behind so many happy memories of Christmas parties and family celebrations.

Surviving are his wife Catherine of 36 years, three daughters, Denise May & her husband Keith, Amy Geisendaffer & her husband Robert, Jennifer Pampalone, & her husband John, as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Donna Gillissie Cross in 2003. Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be Friday, December 29th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30th at 10 am from Anderson & Campbell, followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
