From the little adorable redhead of the family to becoming an adult and a father, I was honored to have been able to watch you grow up. You were pretty attached to your Mom early on but I remember getting you to play with me at your house, sitting on the ground rolling some toy cars back and forth and I was so excited. 

Fast forward a bit, and I remember your Dad bringing you and Tyler over for a birthday party several years ago and having this adult conversation with you both sitting at the kitchen island, no longer my little nephews but young adults who had really blossomed and matured. I remember texting your Mom to tell her how much I really enjoyed talking to you and that she did a good job. 

You were a fixture at every birthday party and holiday with the crew of cousins and I have so many fond memories of you all together, opening presents, playing in the yard and definitely the annual Easter egg hunt at Uncle Mark and Aunt Anne's. 

It breaks my heart that you are gone, but you will never be forgotten. It gives me some peace to know that Luna has an amazing guardian angel looking out for her always.

I’ve known Daniel since the day after he was born. As a kid, it was uncanny how much he looked like his dad, except for the red hair…that he got from his mom.  I must say that he was one of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen, with his gorgeous red hair, that grin and usually a mischievous look in his eyes. Since childhood at family gatherings, a person of few words, he always had a glint, a gleam, a knowingness in his eyes that told me that he didn’t miss anything…there was an awareness, a wisdom there that he did not flaunt. I remember playing “Spelling for Dollars,” a game where I gave $1 to my nieces and nephews for correctly spelling the word I gave them. Daniel and his brother, Tyler, tried to coerce me into playing “Spelling for Twenty Dollars.” When I said I’d agree with one slight change in the rules (if they were wrong, they’d have to give me $20), they quickly did an about face and declined. And then guess what happened? He grew up, became an adult. Daniel, I didn’t have a chance to see you with Luna in person, but I know you were a blessing in her life, and will continue to be, although not in physical form. There are so many people who are grieving, loving, missing you…may you soar with the angels, your soul set free to fly, and may you make your presence known to those you loved most in this world.

Dan was such a one of a kind person. He always had everyone laughing & smiling no matter what the situation was, instantly brightening the day as soon as he came in any room. My personal favorite memory of Dan goes back a year or so ago. I had already known Dan from years of riding with him & my significant other, Robbie. One night leading up to the annual County Alarm Systems Christmas Party, I was working at Tillys in the Ocean County Mall. As I was standing in the front of the store, I saw two familiar faces start to walk by, Dan & Jalyssa. I called out to them saying hi trying to get their attention & Dan looked at me after looking at Jalyssa saying, "who are you?!" I even tried pulling my mask down only to later realize that he's really only seen me in motorcycle gear, usually a helmet covering my face too. Next day at the Christmas party we were all joyfully carrying on eating & laughing & I started to tell Dan about the mall incident & how he didn't recognize me. He then looks at me & goes, "who are you?" followed by me saying, "yeah sorry I don't know you." and we all started cracking up in laughter. Needless to say it became the running joke for a while. In the end, I know that even now, Dan is looking down on us making sure that we continue to smile & laugh each day until we are all able to be back together again laughing & smiling for eternities.

From the very first time I met Dan I instantly got along with him, I feel we shared many things alike, shy personality, passionate interests and so much more. To choose a single memory for me seems to be impossible  because there were no bad days when Dan was around. Right from the very begining Dan was someone who felt like Family. In this world full of crazy people he still found a way make things alright, his presence would bring warmth and joy and his smile that said "what's there to worry about? We got this." Although he probably didn't know it, Dan taught me to live life to the fullest, make the most of everything and much more. Not a day will go by, without rembering my best-friend, a true angel.
I know he's up there smiling, watching over us.

I didn’t really know Dan as much as I know many have, but I wanted to share how much of a hoot he was to be around. After hearing numerous stories of how funny he is, and how much of a positive soul he was to be around, I wanted to share how happy and loved he was by everyone. Every time I saw him at the office, when he had gotten off at work, he was all full of smiles, cracking jokes and ecstatic to make his way back home to Luna and Jalyssa. His drive to make sure every single person is having a good time is a gift, and nothing could ever replace the energy that Dan gave off. More than anything, I know that Dan was strong. He never let anything bother him nor bring him down, and I can’t stress it enough, HE WAS ALWAYS SMILING! I know that even now he’s probably still smiling, smiling for everyone to see, riding his motorcycle. 

At work, Dan always brought a smile with him. Even on days where we were doing nothing but walking around at big jobs, he always had smart-ass remarks or jokes to make and we all were able to laugh and smile through the day. As a rider, I am new to riding and Dan was one of my first riding buddies. Through watching him in front of me, I learned a lot of control and discipline. The NJRiders large group ride was the first I’d ever done and I had been nervous. In part due to Dan, it was an amazing experience. We both got QuadLocks recently and shared frustrations in actually using them and I know he’ll forever be laughing at me fidgeting with it to try and get it on. I will always leave enough space wherever I ride so that my friend and co-worker, Dan, can ride along with me. Until we meet again.

    My deep compassion on the sudden loss of your loved one.      
 It seems Daniel lived his best life in the time he was given.  May it be said of all of us.  Life is so mysterious no one can say for certain what will happen moments from now.
