John "Jack" Burke

John Edward Burke “Jack”, age 90, passed away June 8, 2016. He leaves behind wife Jane Burke of Laguna Woods, California, and 8 children; Peggy (Randy) Holtzman of Ann Arbor, Bob (Lori) of McKinney, Texas, Sue (Tim) Curry of West Bloomfield, Anne (John) Timossi of Aliso Viejo, California, Mike (Sally) of Washington Township, Barbara (Mike) Fabyan of West Bloomfield, deceased son James (Shannon and Dave Bernards) of Portland, Oregon, John (Bonnie) of Grand Rapids, and Tom of Petoskey. Cuc (Long) Tran and Thang (Trang) Nguyen from Viet Nam, joined the family in 1979. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, with one more expected. The visitation will be held from 2-8 pm at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home in White Lake, Michigan, with a prayer service and Rosary at 6 pm, followed by a sharing of memories. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 13, at 11 am, with a visitation from 10-11 am St. Patrick Catholic Church in White Lake, Michigan. Luncheon to follow at the church. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the St. Luke’s New Life Center of Flint, a faith-based community center providing services for women and their families in Flint, Michigan.
