Donald Smith Foster

Beloved husband of Nora for 53 years. Loving father of Brian (Becky) Foster, Jenny (Ron) Henson and Jessica (Chad) Gilbert. Proud grandfather of Isabella, Miles, Zachary, Michael and Mason Foster, Gavin, Grace, Jacob and Jack Henson, Riley Erfourth and Xander Gilbert. Uncle of Noah Kreider, Vanessa, Rachel, Hannah and Nicole. He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Lanetta Kronner and Sheila Miller.

Mr. Foster was a Coast Guard Veteran and retired Lieutenant of the Royal Oak Police Department. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and was a proud and loyal protector of the community. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a Field Representative with Right to Life. In his spare time he was an avid racquetball player. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his grandchildren. He was very involved in their sporting events and enjoyed supporting and spending time with them, he will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Road in White Lake. Visitation will begin at church from 10:00 am until the time of the mass at 11:00 am.

There will be a Rosary Service Sunday evening followed by both Police & Military Honors at 6:00pm at the Funeral Home.
