Carol Joyce Martin

Carol Joyce (Wimmer) Martin, age 92, of Farmington Hills, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Dearest Stepmother of the late Patricia (Richard) Schilling, Carol (the late Manolo) Martin Gutierrez, and Scott Martin. Proud Grandmother of Sara Martin Guiterrez (Alberto), Jennifer (Philippe) Rio, Elizabeth (Jason) Brown, and Leslie Martin Gutierrez. Dearest Great-Grandmother of Sofia, Ellie, and Liliana. Carol is also survived by her many beloved friends, who adored her. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Damon Martin, her brother, Einar Raymond Wimmer, and her mother, Agnes Wimmer.

Carol was known as a cheerful woman with a great sense of humor. She was strong in her faith in Christ, and was known to be a very talented artist. Throughout her life, Carol worked as an executive assistant at General Motors for many years until her retirement. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, 48386. Pastor Roy Thomas will officiate, with burial to follow at Oak View Cemetery, 1032 N. Main Street, Royal Oak, 48067. Carol’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
