A resident of White Castle and retired welder, Sonny passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. He was 85. Sonny was born in Bayou Goula on May 11, 1931. He worked as a Plant Operator and Supervisor with Dow Chemical. He was a Boy Scout Leader and treasured the time he spent with family. He also had a love for gardening and traveling in his RV with those he loved.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gertie LeBlanc Hebert; daughters, Deborah Hebert Breclaw and husband Greg, Sandra Hebert Beck and husband Bruce, and Sharon Hebert Linzy; sister, Marion Hebert Pearce; brothers, Mervin Sr. and Charles Hebert: 13 grandchildren, Brandon Beck and Bridget Trosclair; Kristina Wilson, Jason and Nicholas Linzy; Natalie Allen, Rebecca Boyd and Gerard Joseph Hebert Jr.; Derrick and Jarrod Breclaw; and Jonathan, Caitlin and Holly Hebert: and 25 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Odette Theriot Hebert; sons, Gerard Sr. and Kirk Hebert; brother, Curtis Hebert; and great grandson, Logan Trosclair.
Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, White Castle on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5 pm until 9 pm and will resume on Saturday from 9 am until 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, White Castle. Entombment to follow in White Castle Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Beck, Derrick Breclaw, Jarrod Breclaw, Jason Linzy, Gerard J. Hebert, Jr., Nicholas Linzy, and Jonathan Hebert.
