Squeezer was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She worked for many years at the White Castle Times/Post-South Newspapers. After retiring from the newspaper industry, she and her husband owned L&S Ammunition for fifteen plus years. Squeezer enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and never missed a chance to play Pokeno on Wednesday.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Larry Martinez, Jr. (Rhonda), Julie Humphreys (Danny), Paula Smith (Jeff), and her “favorite” child, Beth Rivers (Jerry); five grandchildren, Stephen Martinez, Emily Jordan, Garrett Smith (Tori), Justin Rivers (Baileigh), and Meredith Leger (Marques); seven great-grandchildren, Madison Watson, Kaelyn Rivers, Levi Jordan, Kolten Rivers, Greyson Rivers, Wyatt Smith, and Ava Smith; two sisters, Peggy Alonzo (George) and Diane Hebert (Bob), and her special cousin, Sister Jerome Blank.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Martinez, Sr. and her parents, Donald and Genevieve Comeaux.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Hospice of Baton Rouge and the Butterfly Wing for the exceptional care and compassion given, as well as her special friend and caretaker, Martha Artmann.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle, LA, on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 9am until 11:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 12pm with interment to follow in the mausoleum.
