Warren worked as a butcher until he discovered his love for toy trains. In 1970, he and a small group of train collectors in the Denver area got together at the home of Warren Mizell to explore the possibility of forming a new division of the Train Collectors Association (TCA). From that humble beginning, the Rocky Mountain Division of TCA was created and is a vital growing entity within the TCA. Warren was a prominent member of the Westminster Business Association for 35 years, with his business Mizell Trains and Hobbies which he opened in 1977. He was famously known for his "The Wall of Trains," which spanned over 70 feet in length and 15 feet high.
He is survived by his loving family, son Kurt Mizell and daughters Debra Mizell and Susan Mizell. Warren is also survived by his brothers, Gordon Mizell and William Mizell, and six grandchildren, Colton Mizell, Vivian Minard, Spencer Minard, Tanner Mizell, Tyler Minard, and Jessica Palmer; his great-grandsons Avery Minard and Carter Minard.
Warren is predeceased in death by his parents, Floyd Mizell and Leone Mizell, nee Batie, his wife, Merilyn Mizell, nee Schow, and his daughter Michelle Mizell-Minard.
