Selma was born to Olaf and Ingeborg Norbye on September 10, 1926 at home in Genoa Colorado. She married Ray Cash in Denver Colorado on January 21, 1950 and had 3 children. She graduated from Woodrow High School in 1944 and taught school with an emergency teaching certificate for two years before enrolling in Barnes Business School in 1946.
She passed away on December 1, 2022 at the Lutheran Hospice Collier Center in Wheat Ridge Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Ingeborg Norbye, her husband Ray Cash, her son Ray Cash, Jr., her brother Peder Norbye, her great-granddaughter Emma Palas, two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Huffman and Warren Parker.
She is survived by daughter Sheila and husband Robert Lopez, son Donald Cash and wife Vickie, four grandchildren, Christa and Curtis Hicks, Justin and Amy Lakkari, Bret and Quinn Cash, and Alisha and Marcus Palas, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, Izabel-Rose Lakkari, her bestie until she passed away. She is also survived by two sisters, Iola Huffman of Axtell, Nebraska and Olivia Parker of Ft. Morgan, Colorado. She also has lots of nieces and nephews spread across the country!
She loved sewing, crocheting, cross stitching and quilting, which she did until she lost her sight.
Ray and Selma’s greatest joy was their family and raised their children with love and worked hard to make sure they had everything they needed. When their children were grown, the grandchildren became their number one priority. They both had the biggest, kindest hearts ever. Always room for one more!!
