Scott Richmond, son of Greg and Linda Richmond, passed away suddenly on March 23, 2019, in Edgewater, Colorado. He was born and raised in Longview, Texas. He attended Pine Tree High School where he excelled in his studies and enjoyed being a member of the tennis team. During high school, he worked for a high-end restaurant in downtown Longview as both a server and then a manager. He later went on to work for Good Shepard Hospital where he was a host. The staff there liked him so much that he was asked to come work in the office where he became a trusted employee.
Scott always had an entrepreneurial spirit and in 1993 founded a used car dealership in East Texas where he could wheel and deal cars and drive a different hotrod daily. Possessing an innate talent for understanding computers and technology, Scott studied at Texas University and later received his Oracle certification, which launched his career into IT. After working in IT for several years in Dallas, Texas, Scott took a leap of faith in May of 2005 and decided to move to Denver, Colorado to work for Exclusive Resorts. After being mentored by Charles Livingston and building his first cube, he was promoted from Analyst to Director of Business Intelligence. Demonstrating continued excellence in his role, he was promoted to Vice President of Information Technology in 2014 and held this role until his passing. He loved his job and fellow team members and always came home with stories about his next big project.
The same year that Scott moved to Denver (2005), he met the love of his life, Audra Phillips, with whom he always said he fell in love with at first sight. Four-and-a-half years later, Scott and Audra wed in Cabo San Lucas at the beach club of an Exclusive Resorts property. But wait, Scott’s entrepreneurism was not done yet. Immediately after their wedding Scott convinced Audra to open a Medical Marijuana Retail store with him in late 2009. With Scott’s business savvy mind and intellect, he formed a Board of Directors for what is now known as Green Man Cannabis. A premier cannabis provider in Denver, Colorado. Scott and Audra were best friends, business partners and happily married for over 9 years.
Five years into their marriage, they welcomed the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Elleese Richmond. Friends and family that knew Scott, would say he adored his girls and never hesitated to express his deepest love and affection. Scott’s memory and spirit will forever live on in Audra and Elleese’s hearts.
Scott was a devoted father and husband who enjoyed loud music of all kinds, driving his Porsche 911, traveling to ER destinations, grilling a good steak coupled with homemade mac and cheese, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and long walks with his family and friends. He was a genuine, standup guy who had a contagious love for life. Scott was extremely intelligent, assertive and mentored many. He looked for the good in others and would do anything for those he cared for, loved and respected. Those who knew him well would say his playful spirit always brought light and laughter into any room because he had an extremely big heart and touched a lot of people in his short life.
Scott was preceded in death by his brother Shaun Richmond, and his uncle Roger Richmond.
Scott is survived by his spouse, Audra Phillips Richmond; his daughter Elleese Richmond; his parents Greg and Marty Richmond. He will be deeply missed by family and friends and all who knew him.
