When the state voted to allow Broomfield to become a city and county, Rachel knew Broomfield needed to form a county party. She stepped out to help someone do it. But the chairs of the counties Broomfield were made up of decided she was the one. She got to work establishing a county party. She served as the first chair. She worked hard for 2 terms to establish the Broomfield County Democrats. She was also elected as chair of the Latino Initiative.
She spent a large amount of her time volunteering for different charities to help feed the homeless.
She also spent time serving at different churches in any capacity they needed her.
Some of the most rewarding time for her was spent helping Food for Hope feed many of under privileged children in Adams county school districts.
