Maurice (Maury) Klinger was born on February 27, 1920 and raised on a farm near Monroe, South Dakota, the town in which he attended school and graduated from high school in 1938. Maury attended the Standard Welding Institute in Sioux City, Iowa, and upon graduating he worked as a welder in Kansas City, Missouri.
On July 11, 1942 he married Eldora Heemstra with whom he attended school and had known all his life. They had four children, Ronald, Eileen, Alvin and Curtis.

Early in their married lives, while living in Evansville Indiana, Maury was employed as a welder foreman in a large shipyard. He was drafted into the Army in 1944 and served in the 32nd Infantry Division in the Philippine Islands and he also spent a year serving in the Military Government in the occupation of Japan. Upon returning home, he worked for many years as a construction superintendent for Coors.
During his life, he was active in community and church affairs and was a member of Mountain View Community Church for more than 46 years. His strong faith and love for his family was an important part of his life.
Maury was predeceased by Eldora, his wife of 56 years, who died on January 5, 1999, and by son Ronald on March 15, 2005. Surviving are his sister Alice - 94 years of Monroe, South Dakota, daughter Eileen VandeBunte and husband Larry Brolin of Freehold, New Jersey, son Alvin and his wife Bunny of Denver, Colorado and son Curtis and his wife Debbie of Lakewood, Colorado. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Viewing Wednesday, March 21st, 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 29th & Wadsworth. Funeral service Thursday, March 22nd, 10:00am at Mountainview Community Church, 3939 West Florida Avenue, Denver, CO 80219. Committal service with Army Honors will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 12:15pm, Area "C". A reception will follow the services at the Church.
