Matthew Hartley Dudek

Matt grew up in River Forest, Illinois and attended Willard Elementary School and Roosevelt Middle School. Matt graduated from Global Citizenship Experience Lab High School in Chicago, Illinois. Following high school, Matt attended college at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and spent many weekends at Arapahoe Basin and Keystone snowboarding. Following a year in Colorado, Matt took a break from school and began working with his father rehabbing homes. Matt returned to college, receiving an Associates of Arts degree in psychology from Triton College. At the time of his death, Matt was a junior at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the College of Urban Planning and Policy, majoring in Urban Studies.

Matt is also survived by his grandparents, Sharon Kramer and Hartley and Anne Morey; his aunts and uncles, Chris and Jessica Dudek, Mitch Dudek, Liz and Randy Gerlach and Liza and Mark Green; his sister Anne (Tia), his nephew, Ayden, and his cousins, Randy, Alliy, Grace, Christian, Nick, Cali, Alex, and Whitney (Stew).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Matthew H. Dudek Fund, established through the Chicago Community Trust. Intended beneficiaries of the fund include the College of Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago and mental health programs for young adults.
