Kenneth D. Willis born in Denver, Colorado to Harry & Clara Willis on November 24, 1930 and died May 31, 2020. He was the last living brother of Harry, Lester, sister Madalyn and a step sister Pat Willis. He is survived by his wife Nancy who he married November 19,1953, son and daughter-in-law Gregory & Kathy Willis and son Gerald Willis. As well as, two Grandsons Jerrod & Jason Willis and a Nephew Bill Pardee.
Ken was a native Denverite who served in the Army from May 18, 1951 to 1953. He had started his Sheet Metal apprenticeship in 1951 prior to his Army service. He completed his apprenticeship September 28, 1955 and began as a Journeyman. Ken was a Sheet Metal Worker in Local #9 for 41 years. He held positions as Field Foreman - Shop Foreman - Superintendent - held Class A Supervisor licence & retired as an Estimator. His son Greg & Grandsons Jerrod & Jason followed his footsteps into the Sheet Metal Union trade. His son Jerry also joined the construction field as a General Contractor Project Manager.
Ken had many hobbies throughout the years from racing cars & working on them to restoring cars-trucks and a Model A. He was a motorcycle enthusiast dirt & street and pasted that love on to his son Greg. He always loved Big Game Hunting and was an avid Fisherman.
Ken & Nancy traveled for 20 years in their Fifth Wheel after Ken retired at 62. They traveled to various states in the West with the Palm Springs area being their favorite in the Winter months. In Summer they would head to Blue Mesa outside of Gunnison to fish for his favorite Kokanee Salmon & camping. Always returning to their home in Lakewood, Colorado.
The last two decades of his life Ken was know as a miracle man by first surviving small cell lung cancer, second brain cancer and then having a stint placed in his heart. He lived a full happy life and would have been 90 in November.
