Keith was born in Longmont, Colorado on August 29, 1933 to Flossie and Lem Cowan. He was raised on a farm with his eight siblings and attended school every year only after the harvest. Because he was so smart, he was able to catch up to his peers without any problem. After graduating High School he joined the Marines with the intent of using the G.I.Bill to get his College education, which he did. He got a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering and worked at Martin-Marietta in the space program. He held a variety of Engineering jobs over the next 35 years. He became interested in Real Estate investments and began his journey with buying and running Income Properties. He claimed he would never retire until the day he died, and that’s exactly what he did.
Keith married Beverly Springer on September 2, 1956. They were married for 46 years, having three daughters {Debbie, Lori (Kevin), and Connie (Oliver).} Bev passed into her heavenly home on June 10th, 2002. He has five granddaughters (M’liss (David), Jessica (Jake), Amy (Kyle), Kelsey (Darrel), and Megan (Jessie), and one grandson (Reed), and one great-granddaughter (Alexis (Kyle) from that union.
In 2005, Keith married Nancy Larson on July 30th. She brought to the marriage four sons (Brian (Leanne), Eric (deceased)(Kara), Kevin, and Neil, four grandchildren (Katie (Lawrence), Maggie, Ben, and Kelsey (Brian) , and two great-grandchildren (Carter, and Piper).
Keith was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He faithfully attended a Bible study class, Life Light, for ten years.
Things that were important to Keith were hard work, gardening, skiing, traveling, spending time with family, education, helping and listening to people, solving problems, wheeling and dealing, the thrill of a bargain, and ice cream.
