John Michael Padgett

John Michael Padgett passed peacefully during the night of September 12th, 2023, after living a life that was nowhere near as quiet as it ended. Anyone who knew John remembers at least one time where his sneeze scared you so much a little pee might have come out. People will always remember how his loud, infectious laugh would carry across a room announcing his presence, and a good time was coming your way. John will be missed dearly by his family, friends and past co-workers for how he forced you out of your comfort zone and helped you find new ways to enjoy all the things you didn’t even think you were supposed to. John always had a way of connecting with and putting a smile on peoples faces. Whether it be someone in his grocery line, servers in the casinos, waiters and waitresses at his favorite restaurant, or if you happen to wear a Badger or Packer logo, John would always make your day a little brighter. John kept everyone entertained with his jokes and stories, and made the time to listen to everyone else’s as well. Even the furniture he babysat for 6 months when he was working by himself at the FTC could regale you with all his corny jokes that would bring a smile to your face while you were also slapping it with the palm of your hand. John made everyone want to be at his parties, not because he made it about himself, but because he made it about everyone else having a great time. An “avid” deer hunter, John’s rifle probably has the same bullets he put in it 30 years ago. Hunting for him wasn’t about the actual hunt, but the time bonding with his friends. They were able to share tall tales from years past, and all the things their kids were up to now.

John, you will be forever missed and cherished for the love you showed to those around you. We hope you enjoy manning the grill and dishing out smiles and brats with a beer in your hand for all time.

John is survived by his wife Kendra, two sons Daniel and Kenneth, daughters-in-law Tracy and Gina, and 5 grandchildren, Alex, Max, Jimmy, Kendall and Edwin.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday October 21st at Cotton Wood Lodge at Hyland Hills Golf Course, 9650 Sheridan Blvd, Westminster from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Golf/casual attire. No suits or ties please. In lieu of flowers, Padgett Family Strong requests donations to Oncology and Kids, a non-profit for families with children dealing with cancer. They provide camps where the survivor, siblings or whole families can meet others dealing with the difficulties of childhood cancer and spend time together outdoors.
