John William Lowe, Jr.

99, of Wheat Ridge, Co., born in Freeport, New York, March 7th, 1917, son of J. William Lowe and Mae Simpkin Lowe, passed from this life on August 28th, 2016. John married Betty Seaman and they had one son, Robert Lowe. The marriage did not work out. John married Mildred Walk who had one daughter, Patricia, age 14. The family of John and son Robert with Mildred and daughter Patricia established their residence in Denver, Co. They all attended and became members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Lakewood. John became the distributor for Thermo-Rite glass fireplace enclosures. He and Mildred also established and managed the Fireplace and Gift Center in Lakewood. During WWII, John was employed by the COLUMBIAN BRONZE CO. in Freeport, N.Y., a foundry manufacturing boat propellers for P.T. boats and also propellers for large ships. When the war ended, John became associated with the New York association for the Blind, which had a workshop that provided employment for blind individuals, both men and women. In 1996, John married his neighbor Carol Ann Seal and had their home in Wheat Ridge. John is preceded in death by his second wife of 40 years, Mildred W. Lowe, son Robert Lowe, and a grandson Roland Scott Carpenter, sister Bea Reed, brother Al Lowe, and a niece Joann Powell. He is survived by wife Carol, step daughter Patricia, stepfather to Craig (Kim) Seal, Patrick (Vicki) Seal; grandfather to Lauren Seal, Taylor Seal, Matthew Seal and Shannon Seal; as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on September 10th, 2016 at 11:00am at Olinger Crown Hill Chapel of Peace. Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Cemetery & Arboretum, Wheat Ridge, CO.
