Jane was born on September 20, 1924 at her grandparents’ farm in Sydney, Nebraska to parents Hans Herman Kuehl and Margrett Mary Fisher Kuehl. She grew up in Marino, Colorado with her siblings Kermit, Norma, Leroy, Robert, and Eloyse. Most of them attended school together in a one room schoolhouse where their teacher was only 18 years old. After she graduated from Marino High School, she moved to Denver with her family.
At the age of 22, she married the love of her life, Gaylord Clayton Jones (23), on October 9, 1946 in Norton, Kansas where they eloped after dating for three months and were married for 57 years until Gaylord’s passing. Together they raised their 5 children: Doug, Terry, Timothy, Vickie, and Ricky in Denver. Jane has said that one of the greatest joys in her life was her family and how much they cared for each other and spent time together.
She enjoyed traveling the country with Gaylord in their Winnebago, spending time with her family, crocheting, cheering on the Denver Broncos, playing cards, and watching the game show network.
Jane is survived by her children Doug, Terry, and Vickie, Daughter-in-laws Jennie and Christie, brothers Leroy and Robert, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jane is in heaven watching over us all and has reunited with those who preceded her in death. Husband Gaylord, children Ricky and Timothy, siblings Kermit, Eloyse, and Norma, and her parents Hans and Margrett.
