January 5, 1942 – November 9, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eva Maxine (Allen)-Waltenburg, age 82, of Northglenn, Colorado. Maxine passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2:20 AM, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on January 5, 1942, in Thorntown, Indiana, Maxine was the daughter of Mrs. Eva Allen and Mr. Claude Allen. She was raised in a large, loving family and cherished by her five sisters: Frances, Mary, Anna, Janet, Judy and her six brothers: Robert, Doyle, Carter, Donald, Ronald, and John.
Maxine graduated from Thorntown High School in 1960 and went on to pursue a career in cosmetology, earning her beautician license through the University of Beauty Culture in Indianapolis. She later pursued a career in accounts payable after moving to Northglenn, Colorado, at Homestead House where she met two of her best friends Loretta and Janice.
In 1961, Maxine married the love of her life, Henry Edward Waltenburg of Dover, Indiana, on June 23. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared a life full of love and laughter. Maxine is survived by their three children: Christina Isaacks (Andy), Teresa Morris (Brian), and Chad Waltenburg (Rhonda). She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Rachel Sparks (Jesse Schisel), Ryan Sparks, John Morris, Madison Waltenburg, Paige Morris, Aaron Isaacks, Kennedy Waltenburg, Regan Waltenburg, and Taylor Waltenburg. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Adriana and Gianni Schisel. She was widowed on August 8, 1985.
Maxine spent most days watching movies, spending time with family and friends, going on vacation, spilling the tea with her granddaughters, giving advice, storytelling, playing games, crocheting, reading, and being the social media queen.
Maxine's warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her. She brought joy to every room and touched the lives of so many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Maxine will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. With a hand held and maybe a tap on your shoulder from Maxine herself “I love you and you be happy” this was her wish for everyone.
