Elaine Stewart

Elaine Loretta (Peters) Stewart was born on May 12th 1937 and passed away on October 18, 2017. She is survived by her ex-husband Larry Peters of Wheat Ridge CO; daughter Janice (Rich) Jantz of Montrose, CO; Son Scott (Kim) Peters of wheat Ridge CO; grandchildren Aaron Richardville of Wheat Ridge CO; Laura Henderson of Moab UT; Jamie Richardville of Brighton CO; Leandra, Colton and Lauryn Peters of Wheat Ridge CO; great grandchildren Aidan Henderson of Moab, UT; Hailey and AJ Fairbrother of Brighton CO. She is preceded in death by her Father, Earl Jerome; her mother Elaine Jerome; and her daughter Shelli Richardville.

Elaine grew up in Chicago, Il and at Boyesen School (boarding school,) in Wisconsin. She married Ron Olmsted just prior to turning 18 and had daughter Janice. They were divorced shortly thereafter. She worked and took care of her daughter until she met her 2nd husband Larry Peters. Larry was living in Oregon at the time and in Chicago visiting family when they met. They agreed to meet in the middle and both moved to Denver, Colorado where they were married in 1959. Larry adopted Janice and they had 2 children, Shelli and Scott. Larry joined the police force while Elaine worked as a skip tracer for J.C. Penny and May D & F where she met two of her longtime friends Irene and Naomi. Elaine briefly owned her own business with a colleague. She last worked as an operator at Mountain Bell. Elaine was an avid baseball fan and she loved the Colorado Rockies and the Chicago White Sox’ a passion she shared with her dad. She was also a dedicated Denver Broncos fan. Elaine lived near her mother for many years until both needed more assistance. Her mother was suffering with Dementia and Alzheimer’s and moved in to Allison Care. After a few falls Elaine moved into Cherilyn Care Center where she remained until her daughter’s death. Her daughter Janice and husband Rich had just moved to Montrose, CO and she moved there to be close to them. She was only in Montrose for a few weeks before her untimely death.
