Cathy fearlessly battled two rare diseases, AL amyloidosis and Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia. She continued to teach us how to live with courage and grace until her last breath. We are overwhelmed by the privilege it has been to witness her final journey and we are heartbroken that it has come to an end.
Cathy was a devoted and loving wife, a fierce and protective mother, an adoring and affectionate grandma, a compassionate and wise friend, and the funniest person we have ever known. She embodied grace and dignity, and filled every day with laughter. She taught us how to find the light in the darkest seasons; to never lose hope and that it is always appropriate to laugh- because this life is truly absurd.
She is survived by her husband Bob, her four daughters Ramie, Corrie, Hannah, and Chelsea, step-daughter Katie, step-son Jeremiah and six grandsons Jadon, Alder, Bowen, Henley, Jasper, and Hatcher.
Cathy was born in Mesa, Arizona to Carl Bodley and Janice Miller-Bodley on March 2nd, 1954. She was the oldest of three children with younger siblings Linda and Brian. She grew up in Colorado and married Gary Snyder on September 21, 1973. After his death in 2001, she married Bob Derry on May 21st, 2004. They raised their daughters together in Golden, Colorado.
She joins in heaven her first husband Gary, both of her parents Carl and Janice, and her sister Lin.
