Betty Eileen Jackson was born October 9, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to James Bowen Jackson and Fannie Shelton Jackson. She passed away at the age of 96 on November 26, 2021 in Loma Linda, California where she had been in hospice care.
She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, she received a BA degree from the University of Colorado in music, and MA from the University of Indiana in voice and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study opera in Germany.
Upon her return to the United States, she settled for a short time in Colorado where she taught at the Morrison School for Girls, worked at The Brown Palace Hotel and performed in the Central City Operas. In 1963, she moved to Rialto, California where she taught at the elementary level for over 40 years in the Fontana School District retiring in her eighties in 2009. As a teacher, she touched the lives of several generations. She often performed in local musical and opera productions in the Riverside area and taught graduate level courses in operas as well as private piano lessons. She was instrumental in establishing a music program at Cal State in San Bernardino.
She was a member of many organizations such as the Rialto Playhouse, Daughter of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Honorable Order of Eastern Star, Orchestras of America, Chi Omega Sorority, and Who's Who of America.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Robert Dale Jackson and James Richard Jackson.

In a private ceremony Betty was laid to rest in the Jackson Family Plot at Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
