Phyllis Evelyn Richards

Richards Phyllis Evelyn (Cromwell) – Age 84 of Southville, passed away at home on September 16, 2017. Born in Southville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Melburne and Jennie Mable (Bright) Cromwell. Phyllis was a much loved wife of 65 years and loving mother to 11 children. She was an active member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Southville and she loved gardening and quilting. Phyllis is survived by husband, William Allen Richards; daughters, Mary Ellen Hatcher, Jennie Marie Richards, Margaret Anne Brown, Krista Rose Patton; sons, Michael Allan Richards, John Melvin Richards, Stephen William Richards, William Andrew Richards, Derek James Richards; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Phyllis was predeceased by daughter, Ann Margaret Richards; son, Robert Richards; sisters, Dorothy Ellen Cromwell, Mary Helen Morrison, Rose Elaine Jarvis; brothers, George Dennis, Norman Joseph, John Leander, Richard Harry, Glidden James, Donald Melvin. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9, Tuesday September 19, 2017 at Jayne’s Funeral Home- 5114 Hwy 1, Weymouth North. Funeral Service at 10am, Wednesday September 20 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Southville. Father Vincent Onyekelu presiding with interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.
