Juanita accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour in June of 1991 where she gave a strong testimony of being a "child of THE KING" and spoke about this openly often. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Plympton; serving whenever and wherever needed. She was the example that lead Frank, Harris and Laurie to Jesus Christ shortly after herself.
She was a very hard worker. She worked throughout her life raising her son, Harris and taking care of her husband (Frank) and home; while working out in different places including fish plants and mink ranches; to which she and Frank had their own ranches where she worked until retirement. She loved being a farmer, taking care of the kits and all that went into ranch life. She was always up for coffee and toast in the break room and made it for everyone everyday. One of the favourite treats she brought to the employees was her homemade cherry cheesecake.
She was the best mom; loving, very protective and provided all that was needed and wanted; and she was always a great listening ear and comfort in many discussions she and Harris had. She was the solid and steady he could rely on for anything. She was also a 'second mom' to Paul, Timmy, Dwayne and Michael, whom all loved her throughout her life.
She was an awesome grandmother, always making time for the grandkids and enjoyed those moments immensely. She was proud of the young men and woman they had become. She loved them unconditionally and they loved her. She always made sure Christmas was fun and fulfilling and the 'kids' couldn't wait for the turkey dinner and that wonderful dressing, apple pie and cherry cheesecake.
She never forgot their birthdays or Easter and always had a card with a gift inside even this year while in the hospital. She was the best mom in law. She was a true and honest friend. Always patient, kind, considerate and loving in every situation, and a constant willingness to help when sickness came or another grand baby was born. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings, going to church, shopping, quilting, doing puzzles, watching tv, cards, reading, filling out the mink cards, farming, flowers, gardening, exhibitions, shelling peanuts, and cooking.
Thank you for all the prayers and support (phone calls, visits, food) from immediate family, church family and friends.
Special thanks goes out to all the doctors and nurses on third floor and fourth floor palliative care team at Yarmouth Regional; the love, comfort and care was greatly felt and appreciated.
Special thanks to Paul & Karen Sullivan for the endless love, care and support given to her and the family, day and night; we truly appreciate ALL that you’ve done. (They did not leave her side)
Visitation will be April 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with funeral service on April 10 at 2 pm all from Calvary Baptist Church, Plympton. Pastor Darrin Corning officiating with burial to follow.
