Wendy was born on March 19th, 1952 to parents Daniel and Gratia Kirkpatrick, in the Carthage Hospital in Illinois. The family move to Riceton, Saskatchewan to raise their family. After graduating from Milestone High School in 1971, Wendy went on to Reliance Business School to become a secretary. After graduating, she worked at Municipal Hall for a number of years. Wendy worked at a variety of different places throughout her career, including the Milestone Co-op and CIBC.
Wendy met her husband, Brian Jacobs while she was attending high school and they started dating in 1969 and were married on July 24th, 1971 in Milestone (what a birthday present for Brian!). She is survived by her three children, sons Aaron Jacobs and Mark Jacobs (partner Joyce and son Nicholas) and daughter Natalie Jacobs (partner Reid and stepdaughter Olive). Wendy and Brian raised their family in Milestone, Saskatchewan.
Throughout her life, Wendy was very involved in her community. She volunteered with the Milestone Cub Scouts, Girl Guides and sewed costumes for the figure skating club and dinner theatre performances. She was a board member and long time supporter of the Regina Humane Society. As a passionate animal lover, she took in all sorts of furry creatures big and small to provide them with a loving home. One such creature that found its way into her heart and home was her dog Zoe that she loved to take for walks on the grid roads around Milestone. Wendy's other passions included gardening and needlework. She was a talented seamstress and crafter, even winning first place at the Regina exhibition with one of her Halloween cross stitch pieces.
Wendy is also survived by her brother Lance Kirkpatrick (wife Raelene, White City), and sisters Lisa Pedersen (Regina), Tracy McCabe (partner Lloyd, Ogema), Holly Hicks (Lumsden), Danelle Morgan (husband Joe, Rushville, Illinois), and Heidi Kinvig (husband Danny, Pilot Butte).
A Memorial Service will be held in Milestone, Saskatchewan at the Masonic Hall on Main Street, Saturday, May 20th, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with Judy Beck officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Regina Humane Society.
