Thomas Richard Riccio, 76, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband for 53 years of Joyce (Morin) Riccio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 2, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Hartford on November 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Riccio and Mary (Galley) Riccio. Tom proudly served in the United States Navy and retired from the CT Children’s Medical Center as the Director of Engineering. After retirement, Tom worked another 10 years as the Facilities Manager for the town of Granby school system. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at his summer home at Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Tom will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Joyce; two children, Mark Riccio of Maryland and Karen Lloyd and husband Reed of North Granby and his two adored grandchildren, Ethan and Hanna. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Labriola and husband Daniel, as well as several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Riccio.
Calling hours are Wednesday (October 5) from 4-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
